Alert

May 1, 2025, 3:43 p.m. - UPDATE

Allegheny Valley Families:
We are happy to announce that Acmetonia Elementary School has regained power. Therefore, tomorrow - Friday, May 2 - the District will return to a regular schedule for both buildings. However, we understand that parts of the District remain without power at their homes and businesses. We do hope to see students at school, where they can get breakfast and lunch, charge their devices (and their phones), and spend the day with friends and teachers. Flexibility for all continues to be the key at this time, and the schools are ready and willing to work with our families and provide support where needed. We will also be working with families who need some adaptations at this time. Administrators will continue to monitor the ongoing situation, but encourage you to reach out if you should have questions or concerns. Staff is responding to email and the phone lines are working. We appreciate your patience as we weather this storm together. The District looks forward to seeing everyone in their classrooms tomorrow!

SHS Course Offerings

Students in the District’s high school have a choice of many different paths to take when looking at their future. The school offers classes in business, technical arts, computer science, and the arts in addition to academic classes of English, science, mathematics, and social studies. Foreign Languages, home economics, physical education, and health classes are also part of the school’s curriculum. Five Advanced Placement courses are offered in the upper grades. In addition, distance learning and independent study options are available to students who have an interest in subjects not offered in the building or for those students who have completed all of the offered coursework in a subject area.
