Parents will receive communications from the District through a variety of methods. 

 

Blackboard Connect – This program allows the District to send emails, phone calls, and texts to parents to provide information about schedule/calendar changes, newsletters, District happenings, and emergency situations.

AVSD Parent Portal - The Parent Portal is the district’s online student information system which offers parents and guardians access to grades, attendance, teacher comments and assignments and other important information.  The Parent Portal can be accessed on the AVSD website: www.avsdweb.org click on the Parent Portal link. You will receive an email from the district containing your user ID and temporary password for the Parent Portal. If you have an older sibling in the district, and therefore an existing account, your Kindergarten student will be added to that account.

  • Important notes:
    • The information you provide is used by the school nurse and administration as emergency contact information
    • The information you provide is used by our “Blackboard Connect - Automated Alert System/Dynamail” in the event of an emergency or change in regular school procedures such as a delay or cancellation of school
    • If there is a change in any of your information, immediately update the information in Parent Portal to maintain a current contact for your student(s)
    • Please fill in the Primary Guardian portion of this form as well as any other Emergency Contact information you wish for the school to have in case we cannot reach you. Such emergency contacts are those who have your permission to pick up your child if he/she becomes ill or there is a change to our school day.

Seesaw App - Seesaw is a digital learning platform used in grades K-6 throughout our school. This platform allows students to show learning, teachers to gain insights and families to connect. Once registration is complete, you will receive an email from the district with your invitation to Seesaw. Please accept the invitation and follow the instructions to download the App from Seesaw.  You will receive more important Kindergarten information over the summer.
