Acmetonia Elementary School utilizes the Pearson Reading Street program for reading/language arts instruction. The program guides learning through the Common Core State Standards and prioritizes instruction to support higher levels of reading and writing. Teachers are able to build lessons to increase text complexity, balance fiction and informational text, increase content-area knowledge, focus on different types of writing, and more.

Acmetonia Elementary School utilizes the Eureka Math program for mathematics instruction. Eureka Math is a rigorous program that promotes deep and creative thinking among students. Specifically in primary grades, Eureka challenges students to manipulate and work with numbers on a much deeper level than before, and this is really challenging for students.

FOSS Science is utilized in grades 4-6. FOSS (Full Option Science System) is a research-based science curriculum for grades K-8 developed at the Lawrence Hall of Science, University of California, Berkeley. “The FOSS Program bridges research and practice by providing tools and strategies to engage students and teachers in enduring experiences that lead to deeper understanding of the natural and designed worlds.” (http://www.fossweb.com).
