The Allegheny Valley School District began work on a multi-use athletic complex the week of May 26. The complex will house home games and events for boys' and girls' soccer, football, and track/field. The cheerleaders and marching band will also use the field to support the teams. The project entailed more than 14 weeks of detailed work that included resurfacing the field with turf. In its final stages, the field has been updated and painted, Equipment continues to be delivered and installed for the opening game scheduled for Friday, September 5. Some of the additions include:

Lighting - Lighting has been installation with upgraded standards. Lighting levels have been increased to 50 footcandles for better visibility. This change will help players better see the ball, field markings, and other players clearly. This detail is essential for both performance and safety.

Scoreboard - The new scoreboard has been installed and mimics the old one, with additional areas for key game information for both football and soccer . The board also has reserved spaces that can be used for future advertising, if approved by the School Board.

Sound System - The field's sound system includes new speakers and new speaker placement. A new system is included in the plans for year 2.

The track will remain closed to the public throughout the winter for safety reasons. The District understands that it may be an inconvenience to the community, however, we appreciate your patience as we go through the construction process.
