Twenty-five Springdale Jr.-Sr. High School Chemistry Club students saw science in action during a field trip to the 39th Annual Faraday Lecture on Wednesday, Nov. 4, at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall & Museum in Pittsburgh.Presenters from Kamin Science Center combined chemistry knowledge with live demonstrations during this year’s program, “Chem-Mystery Files: Not What It Seems.” The presentation used chemical reactions to unravel a fictional mystery, giving students an engaging look at scientific principles.
Chemistry teacher Nicole Tryon said the presenters dazzled students with their knowledge and fantastic demonstrations. The visit offered students an opportunity to build on their classroom learning and explore chemistry in a different setting.
The annual Faraday Lecture introduces middle and high school students to chemistry and physics through demonstrations designed to spark curiosity and connect science to everyday life.
